EDUCATION:
EEd1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position, such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, food science, or toxicology/pharmacology.

*Note:
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Common qualification:
EEx1. Experience* in the preparation of written scientific reports and in presenting or defending recommendations based on scientific evidence.

BI qualification:
EEx2. Experience* conducting hazard or toxicological evaluations of chemicals for the purpose of assessing impacts on human health.

CH qualification:
EEx3. Experience* conducting chemical exposure assessments for the purpose of assessing impacts on human health.

*Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of approximately one year.

Asset Qualifications

AEd1. Graduation with an MSc, PhD or advanced medical sciences degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

CH qualifications:
AEx1. Experience* evaluating inorganic or organic chemistry or biochemistry data, such as analytical results, study reports or publications, to arrive at independent conclusions.

*Experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of the duties for a period of approximately one year.

AEx2. Experience* characterizing substances using physical and chemical properties or results from analysis such as chromatography or spectroscopy.
