Global Affairs Canada is hiring Project Management, Accommodations and Facilities Management staff who are eager to innovate, modernize and effect change on a large scale for our offices in the National Capital Region.

As part of the Accommodations and Facilities Project Teams, you will be working in a stimulating and challenging environment with an innovative team that collaborates on a variety of unique and complex projects aligned to the organization’s domestic mandate.
The department is working to implement measures to promote the establishment and maintenance of a healthier, more inclusive and flexible work environment. This includes the possibility of a future hybrid work environment and promoting a healthy work/life balance.

The Gatineau building benefits from a prime location at 200 Place du Portage, close to old Hull’s best restaurants, bicycle paths and downtown Ottawa. You will have access to showers and a secured bicycle cage. Our downtown Ottawa location at 125 Sussex overlooks the water and boasts a newly constructed bicycle facility with indoor heated storage and brand new locker rooms and shower facilities. Note that a hybrid (telework/in-office) model is the current working arrangement for our team in light of the challenges presented by COVID-19.
The department provides a structured developmental experience composed of learning objectives, developmental work assignments, coaching, training and learning activities, regular feedback, and written performance assessments. Continuous learning is encouraged and there is potential for professional development including allowing time for courses such as PROSCI, PRINCE2, PMP, FMA etc.

Your résumé.
EDUCATION
Successful completion of post-secondary education from a recognized educational institution with specialization in Architecture, Interior Design or Construction Management or specialization relevant to the position being staffed.
OR
A post-secondary school diploma with acceptable specialization relevant to the position being staffed.
EXPERIENCE
• Experience in leading the planning and implementation of accommodation projects such as office moves, relocations, fit-up or construction activities with a budget of up to $1,000,000
• Experience in coordinating internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in interpreting technical plans, design proposals or drawings
• Experience working with project scheduling software
• Experience in managing project budgets and schedule

Has or is working towards Project Management Professional (PMP), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) or equivalent designations

• Experience in the design or planning of accommodations or facilities management projects.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
