Work environment

Under the direction of a Nurse Manager, and in a collaborative team environment with colleagues, performs administrative tasks to support the operations of Nursing Stations. It is fast paced and rewarding position with routine communication with community health nurses, and nurse in charges working in remote and isolated communities.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis in Sioux Lookout, ON.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative),various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures acting,assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.

The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing general administrative services in one (1) or more of the following:

- Co-ordinating travel arrangements and preparing expense reports;
- Co-ordinating schedules for employees;
- Purchasing of supplies;
- Finance

Experience using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.

ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Experience using Hogg Robinson Group (HRG).

Experience in committing funds and inputting data in the financial system such as SAP Financial System.

iv) For persons proposed for relocation to an isolated post/remote location and who have dependents: consent to their dependent(s) to undertake a Category 1 periodic health evaluation in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard Schedule (http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pol/doc-eng.aspx? id=12561&section=HTML)

Information on employment equity

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status.
