Duties

The student will for the most part work in an office environment and will carry out analysis or soil geophysical data, i.e. organize the database to be used in ARCGIS, query the data and produce maps of the geographic region of the fields for the project The farm of the future.

Work environment

The Quebec Research and Development Centre, located at 2560 Hochelaga Boulevard, Quebec, QC
focuses on research in two areas: soil-water-air resources and field crops such as forages. More specifically, the Centre's staff works on genetic improvement and crop management of forage crops for Eastern Canada. It also carries out work in soil-water-air resource management and conservation. In addition, it oversees the development of forage and grain production methods adapted to the context.

Currently enrolled in a master program at a recognize post-secondary institution with a specialization in Water Science or a related fields.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience* with entry, processing, modeling, and interpretation of data using ARCGIS software and Python and Linux programming language.

*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
