Assessment accommodation

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.

As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.

Duties

Duties include warehousing, life-cycle management and distribution of RCMP-GRC assets. This includes central shipping and receiving for bulk purchases including dangerous goods to members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Assists in the planning, organizing and warehousing of assets and keep detailed records which identifies all stock and supplies. Issues and maintains a wide variety of miscellaneous items in support of front line personnel and RCMP events.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 5 positions on an indeterminate basis, with varying linguistic profiles and an Enhanced Reliability security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION:
EDU1 - Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1 - Experience in the field of shipping, receiving, distributing, storage of goods and materials.

EX2 - Experience with the use of an automated warehouse inventory system.

EX3 - Experience with the use of automated courier shipping systems such as Purolator, FedEx, Canada Post.

EX4 - Experience using Microsoft Office suite such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

All employees of the core public administration are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and attest to their vaccination status unless accommodated based on a medical contraindication, religion, or another prohibited ground for discrimination as defined under the Canadian Human Rights Act.
