As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation. - Conducting laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments;
- Preparing and analyzing soil, plant, manure/compost, and air samples, in support of ongoing research projects;
- Managing all analyses, including operate various instruments, scheduling instrument use, maintaining analytical data archives, ensuring quality control;
- Participating in design and implementation of experiments by advising on effective use of all equipment and assisting in the interpretation of analytical data.
This process will initially be used to staff one (1) position on a temporary basis from January 4, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
A pool of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions on a temporary or permanent basis.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

B. Sc. Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following fields: Soil Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related agricultural program.

Experience providing technical support in a research or laboratory environment.
Experience planning and conducting laboratory or field experiments and contributing to experimental design.

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
