As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation. This process will initially be used to staff one (1) position on a temporary basis from January 10, 2022 to January 6, 2023.
A pool of qualified and/or partially qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions on a temporary or permanent basis.
In the event that an employee of the public service is qualified through this process, and there is a temporary need, he/she may be considered for acting, deployment, assignment or secondment opportunities.

Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following fields: Biochemistry, Biology, Entomology, Agriculture, or a related Biology program OR acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience working in a research or diagnostic laboratory.
Experience working with molecular biology techniques.
Experience assisting in drafting technical reports and manuscripts.
Experience in diagnostic of honey bee diseases, parasites and pests.
Experience working with large chemical or biological sample-data sets and/or with genomics, chemo-genomics, transcriptomic or microbiome profile analyses.
Experience managing a research laboratory or coordinating maintenance of laboratory equipment.

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
