The projected start date is November 1st, 2021 with an end date of March 31, 2023 (or depending on the candidate's availability or needs). It is expected that the student will work 15 hours per week.
$22.04 to $27.73 per hour (Varies as per level of education and experience.)

Duties

The candidate will be working on a project to analyze sugar and other compositions in honey.

Work environment

The research lab is located at the Guelph Research and Development Centre – Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (Guelph, On). The incumbent’s work will include handling hazardous materials such as chemicals. Appropriate training will be provided to create a safe work environment.

Education:
Currently enrolled in a Master Science program at the University of Guelph, ON in Food Sciences or a related field.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience* in Food Product Developments.
Experience* in working on proteins and polysaccharides/hydrocolloids.

*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.

Reliability Status security clearance - Each student hired through the Research Affiliate Program (RAP) must meet the security requirements of the position as a condition of employment, and therefore will be asked by the hiring organization to complete security-relevant documents.

With appropriate safety precautions in place, must be able and willing to work in laboratory for extended periods at a time, and able and willing to work with hazardous materials.
