For this selection process, it is our intention to communicate with candidates via email for screening and assessment purposes. • Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Part A Notes:
1. Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Recent* experience in quantitative analysis (economic, statistical, mathematical, cost-benefit, trend and/or financial).
• Experience formulating policy positions, strategies, or recommendations through reports, briefing notes, presentations or discussion papers.
• Experience in developing and maintaining databases and/or datasets.
* Recent experience must be gained outside of student courses or thesis work, and must have been gained within the past 3 years.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Forestry, finance, data science, mathematics, physics or computer science.
• Experience in quantitative analysis (economic, statistical, mathematical, cost-benefit, trend and/or financial) of issues related to the forest sector.
• Experience using econometrics models and modelling tools (eg: Stata, R).
• Experience writing scripts that automate web scraping, as well as manipulate and present the scraped data.
• Knowledge of the key economic and environmental policy issues facing the Canadian forest sector.
Various security requirements
Willingness and ability to travel (domestic and international), including travel by car, rail and air.
Willingness and ability to work overtime with little or no advance notice and adopt flexible work hours as per operational requirements.

On October 6, 2021, the Government of Canada announced details of its plans to require vaccination across the federal public service.
As per the new Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for the Core Public Administration Including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, federal public servants in the Core Public Administration and members of the RCMP must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate (permanent), determinate (term), casual, and student hiring. Should you reach the point in the selection process where it is necessary to verify terms and conditions of employment then the hiring manager or a human resources representative will contact you in order to complete an attestation.
