This position is located at the Bells Corners Complex, situated within Ottawa’s Greenbelt, yet close to restaurants and shopping within the area of Bells Corners. Situated between Nepean and Kanata, we are close to the Bayshore bus station as well as the Eagleson/Terry Fox Park and Ride with bus access to the Complex. Intent of the process

This intent of this process is to staff one ENG-04 position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions at the ENG-04 group and level within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or permanent), various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.

Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience planning and performing innovative work in commercial building design

Experience as principal energy modeller on complex building projects using EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, eQuest, EE4 or DOE-2 for new building construction

Experience as principal energy modeller on complex building projects using EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, eQuest, EE4 or DOE-2 for building retrofit projects

Experience preparing detailed reports and recommendations to clients and senior management on building energy design alternatives

Experience preparing, reviewing or evaluating technical studies, reports, and proposals.

Experience presenting building energy design scenarios to clients and/or industry groups

Experience managing information processes and databases
