EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics;
OR
Possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.

EXPERIENCE:
Recent and significant experience* in at least one of the following areas:
• Accounting operations
• Internal or external audit
• Financial reporting
• Financial policies
• Financial systems
*Recent and significant experience is defined as experience whose complexity and diversity are associated with the performance of the duties for at least one of the last three years during which these activities were core duties, and not occasional or temporary duties.
ASSET EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics
OR
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA).
Possess a professional Audit designation, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA).
Possess a recognized professional accounting designation, such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA).
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
Experience in providing services and advice, and in working collaboratively with clients, users and managers in the finance field.
Experience in the interpretation and application of financial policies, directives and procedures.
Experience in developing or improving business processes related to finance.
Experience in extracting, compiling and analyzing financial information and preparing reports, including making recommendations.
Experience in departmental accounting, including end-of-period activities and accountability (accounts payables, accounts receivables, aging AR, trial balance, public accounts and forecasting).
Experience in working in the federal government.
