High school diploma or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience as an operator on various maintenance equipment such as: snow blowers, front loaders, farm tractors and dump trucks acquired through paid employment.

KNOWLEDGE
-Knowledge of operating and basic verification procedures related to various heavy equipment.
-Knowledge of safe working methods.

ABILITIES
-Ability to effectively execute maintenance related tasks in a zone controlled by radio communication.
-Ability to identify a malfunction of heavy equipment.
-Ability to work under pressure.
-Ability to communicate orally.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
-Work experience in an airport environment
-Work experience using heavy equipment for snow removal
-Possession of a firearms license
-Possession of a restricted radio-telephone certificate
-Possession of an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) to access runway areas (tracks, apron, tarmac)

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must successfully pass the restricted radio-telephone test.
Candidates must obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP) to access runway areas.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Candidates must satisfy to the conditions of a class 3 medical examination.

Candidates must possess a valid Quebec license, class 1 or class 3.

Candidates must meet the basic requirements to be eligible to obtain a firearms license.

Willing and able to perform physically demanding occupations, including heavy manual work, which require bending and lifting heavy loads (up to 30 kg);

Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions;

Willing and able to work in difficult environments (outdoors, cold, hot, dusty and noisy);

Willing and able to work overtime if necessary and work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
