Education:
-Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Experience leading geospatial analysis, this may include spatial statistics and spatially explicit modelling.
- Experience leading development and management of *large and *complex geospatial databases.
- Experience preparing written and visual communications materials for a **range of audiences.
- Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues or other individuals.

*“Large” means databases with greater than 100,000 records; “complex” means databases with many variables, complex relationships and dependencies between those variables, and complex data structures (ex. sound recordings, satellite imagery).

**“Range of audiences” includes: Senior management, academia, general public, and/or websites and social media.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset Education:
- Graduation with an advanced degree (Masters, Doctorate) from a recognized post-secondary institution in a natural, physical or applied science with specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
- Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Degree equivalency

Asset Experience:
- Experience leading the development and implementation of open standards (e.g. open geospatial standards or other).
- Experience analyzing geospatial data for wildlife, habitat or ecosystems.
- Experience working effectively with Indigenous communities and governments, federal/territorial government departments, regulators, environmental non-government organizations, or industry on environmental protection or wildlife issues.
- Experience with the coding language and R Studio analysis.
- Experience manipulating and querying data within Microsoft Access databases.
- Experience managing a budget.
- Experience managing procurement requests.
