LOCATION: This position is located in Ottawa, ON.
As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, and contingent on the operating model adopted by OSFI, you may be required to report into and work onsite from the Ottawa Office. The Officer, Regulatory Affairs and Strategic Policy will provide a wide range of research and reporting services to the Regulatory Affairs Division (RAD) and OSFI more broadly to facilitate operations, internal, cross-sector and inter-agency issues management, including in the context of crisis. The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining good business relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent is accountable for providing a wide range of analytical and reporting services, including information management and related analysis in a range of areas to support colleagues in RAD and Regulation Sector, and to respond effectively to the work demands and priorities of RAD and OSFI.
The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) is an independent agency of the Government of Canada, established in 1987 to contribute to the safety and soundness of the Canadian financial system. OSFI supervises and regulates federally registered banks and insurers, trust and loan companies, as well as private pension plans subject to federal oversight.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Experience conducting research, summarizing observations, and drawing conclusions.
- Experience in analysing operational issues and providing advice for their solutions.
- Experience writing reports, presentations or briefing notes.
- Experience liaising with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience providing secretariat services to an executive in the following areas: managing calendars, coordinating approvals and managing the flow and filing of documents, compiling documents to assist the executive in preparing for meetings and presentations; planning and coordinating meetings, including taking minutes and preparing records of decision.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
