Duties

The position is responsible for the application of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Work environment

Looking for a dynamic individual with interest in reviewing documents to support organization’s commitment to open government. In doing so, the incumbent will join a dedicated team committed to the effective and timely application of legislation and policy to better inform Canadians on functioning of its government.

Intent of the process

Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff temporarily, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting appointments, assignment, deployment, indeterminate, specified period, secondment), security requirements and conditions of employment within the Correctional Service of Canada. EDUCATION

EED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EEX1: Experience providing information or advice to clients.
EEX2: Experience preparing correspondence, such as emails and letters to the public, interested stakeholders or management.
EEX3: Experience liaising with internal or external clients.
EEX4: Experience analyzing, researching and interpreting information.
EEX5: Experience applying and interpreting provisions of legislation.

KNOWLEDGE

EK1: Knowledge of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.
EK2: Knowledge of the criminal justice system.

AEX1: Experience working in an Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) office.
AEX2: Experience working in an environment that processes a high volume of requests or information.
AEX3: Experience using specialized ATIP software, such as Access Pro Case Management and Redaction (Access Pro Suite).
