Intent of the process :

The intent is to staff three (3) positions on an indeterminate basis located in Gatineau, Qc with the Indigenous Services Canada (ISC). If you are found qualified and opportunities become available, you could be considered to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) with various locations, linguistic profiles, requirement as well as tenures and/or the security clearance, which may vary according to the position being staffed.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

Successful graduation of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

NOTES:

• Indeterminate period incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standards based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the CS group.

• It is a recognized educational institution (e.g., community college, CÉGEP or university) that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.

• At the manager's discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met via this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1 - *Recent experience providing IM/IT related advice/recommendations or services to internal business clients or *** management.

EX2 - Experience in leading, managing employees and to following up on tasks and deliverables.

EX3 - **Significant experience providing services to internal business clients related to two or more of the following:

• Application Development
• Database and Data Administration
• Database development using SQL languages
• Software Architecture
• Web content management system support, maintenance and enhancements
• Web development and corporate forms design

For the purpose of this selection process, the following definitions apply:

* “Recent experience” refers to experience acquired within the last five (5) years of work.

**”Significant experience” is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are normally acquired over a period of three (3) years.

*** Management is defined as manager or director level or equivalent and above.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree (baccalaureate or higher level degree) from a recognized post-secondary institution in Computer Science or another field relevant to the position to be staff.

• Oracle certifications

• Project Management certification
• Other IM/IT Certifications (relevant to positions being staffed).
