Intent of the process

Anticipatory Staffing - A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment and acting).

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Possession of a valid Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate as a Cook or equivalent

*Significant experience cooking in a commercial or industrial kitchen setting such as a large volume restaurant, institutional facility or a large hotel
*Significant is defined as a minimum of 5 years

The successful applicant will have to obtain an RCMP security clearance. The process also requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of credit/finances, education, employment, references, on-line activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
