Work environment

By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community based programming. You will build and support strong working relationships with First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities, families, and individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks.

Virtual work arrangements may be available and will be determined on a case by case basis dependent on operational feasibility at the time of hiring and the position to be staffed. Some positions require the selected candidate to work in the office. This will be determined by the hiring manager based on the duties of the position to be staffed.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates and it may also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (Deployment, Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Term or Indeterminate) within Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) in different locations with various language profiles and requirements (bilingual imperative BBB/BBB or CBC/CBC or English Essential) and various security requirements (reliability or secret).

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience defined as a secondary school diploma combined with a minimum of two years of experience directly related to the delivery of administration of programs or services.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1 - Experience in analyzing and presenting information from multiple sources

EX2 - Experience in providing services, recommendations or advice to clients, stakeholders, or various levels of management

EX3 - Experience in maintaining relationships with clients, partners or stakeholders

EX4 - Experience working effectively with First Nations, Inuit, or Metis related to the delivery of programs or services

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
- Willing and able to travel mainly across Ontario, and occasionally across Canada and some parts of the United States, including to remote First Nation communities, by various means of transportation (i.e. small aircraft, vehicle or boat), travelling in some adverse road and weather conditions.

- A valid Category 1 medical clearance – Preplacement (including dependents) as per section 4.2 of the Isolated Post and Government Housing Directive for positions in Sioux Lookout (Ontario).
- Undertake a Category 1 periodic health evaluation (including dependents) in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard Schedule for positions in Sioux Lookout (Ontario).
