Duties

An Aerodromes Inspector at Transport Canada is responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of airports and heliports. Responsibilities held by Aerodromes Inspectors include, but are not limited to, oversight activities to ensure aerodrome compliance, review and approval of airport and heliport operations manuals, construction project approvals, and ensuring runway maintenance and standards are upheld. Aerodromes Inspectors also make recommendations for land use near aerodromes and oversee airport zoning regulations. Aerodromes Inspectors work closely with stakeholders to ensure the safe operation of airports and heliports within Pacific Region.

Intent of the process

Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to Aviation.

Experience in conducting audits or evaluations of compliance.

Experience in applying risk management concepts and principles.
Experience in airport management and related operations.
Experience in fire and rescue.
Experience in maintenance at airports, heliports or similar infrastructures.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Possession of a valid provincial motor vehicle driver’s license;
