EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.

1. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in one of the following areas: contaminated site assessment, contaminated site remediation, mine reclamation or environmental site assessment.
- Experience analyzing and reporting on scientific data.
- Experience in the design and implementation of environmental programs.

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of techniques and approaches used to assess or remediate resource development sites.
- Knowledge of policies and legislation guiding the management of contaminated sites.
ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.

- Interpersonal skills.

The following criteria are not required for appointment but preference may be given to candidates who possess these qualifications.
EDUCATION:
- Professional credentials relevant to the management of contaminated sites (e.g., professional engineer, project management professional, etc.).
- Post-graduate education relevant to the management of contaminated sites.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working within a cross cultural environment or with Indigenous organizations.
- Field, mining or remote site experience relevant to the position.
- Experience working on contaminated sites remediation projects in cold climates.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing and able to travel in small fixed wing and helicopter aircraft as well as on winter ice roads.
- Willing and able to work overtime.
- Willing and able to work at remote contaminated sites.
Reliability Status security clearance
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Medical clearance as per relevant Treasury Board directives and policies.
- Requirement to follow Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems (EHSMS) at all times as well as camp rules at remote sites.
