Duties

The student will be responsible for conducting environmental research experiments on an irrigated field located at CSIDC in Outlook Saskatchewan. This research will look at investigating the relationship between remote sensing technologies and crop water availability. This work will require installation of field and soil equipment, sampling and monitoring of environmental conditions and statistical and spatial analysis of results.

Work environment

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) provides information, research and technology, and policies and programs to achieve security of the food system, health of environment and innovation for growth.

The work will be split between office work at Saskatoon Research and Development Centre, located on the University of Saskatchewan Campus, and field work at the Canada-Saskatchewan Irrigation Diversification Centre (CSIDC) located in Outlook Saskatchewan, approximately 100km South of Saskatoon.

Education:
Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a MSc program at the University of Saskatchewan (SK) with specialization in: Engineering or Agriculture.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience* in field work.

*In the context of student recruitment in the Federal Public Service, the experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience, or volunteer activities.
