A qualified pool of candidates may be established from this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada in Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, or Regina with various tenures (Indeterminate, Term, Acting, Assignment, Deployment, Secondment).

Education:
• Graduation with a degree in architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Occupational Certification:
• Certification as a professional architect in Canada
Experience:
• Significant experience* in the provision of a full range of architectural services in executing Real Property** projects (including design and tender documents, design review and guidance, and/or resolution of technical issues)
• Significant experience* leading multi-disciplinary project teams in the delivery of Real Property** projects (including quality assurance, and/or confirmation of project cost, schedule, or scope).
• Experience providing advice to senior management*** and/or key stakeholders on sensitive or complex**** issues related to architectural or engineering services.
• Experience managing human and financial resources in a Real Property** environment.
Significant experience* is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various related activities of varying degrees of complexity and type for a minimum of eight years including at least five years of Canadian experience.
Real Property** projects are defined as new construction or renovations (e.g. interior fit-up) for buildings, structures, improvements, and other utilities on, above, or below the surface of the land.
Senior management*** is defined as persons occupying Director positions and above.
Complex**** is defined as a program or project that is multi-stakeholder; multi-disciplinary; interdependent with other programs of work; technically or politically challenging; or where the dollar value of the contract exceeds five million dollars.
Asset Qualifications:
• Experience in investigation, assessment and rehabilitation for major projects related to architecture such as building envelope design, office building renovations, Laboratories and/or Greenhouse design, Medium-high security design, Sustainability and Greening design, construction and/or commissioning.
• LEED Professional Accreditation.
• Experience building partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in construction in northern Canada.
• Experience in project delivery methods for unique and complex architectural/engineering designs.
• Experience in applying heritage conservation principles and/or standards in the conservation of heritage assets (buildings, cultural landscapes, structures) in Canada.
• Experience in asset management.

• Knowledge of architectural design and construction performed in concert with associated disciplines such as engineering and/or other specialist consultants.
• Knowledge of Federal and Provincial codes, standards and/or technology related to architectural design for a wide range of projects.

Essential qualifications and asset qualifications will be evaluated against depth and breadth of activities.
Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
Candidates may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.
Public service employees found qualified in this process may be considered for acting, assignment, deployment or secondment.
