The position is located at the Maurice-Lamontagne Institute in Mont-Joli (Quebec), and the incumbent of the position will be required to physically work full-time on location.

Work environment

The Maurice Lamontagne Institute, a research centre at Fisheries and Oceans Canada, is located at 850 route de la Mer, Mont-Joli, along the edge of the St. Lawrence estuary. The Institute is approximately 15 km of downtown and at midpoint between Mont-Joli, Rimouski and Matane, two cities located approximately 40 km, the Institute is located on the Pointe aux apples, crabapples, loquats, an enchanting site on which of the walking trails have been constructed. The Seaside is also available. On site, an auditorium seating 250, various meeting rooms, a cafeteria, a gym, coatrooms with showers are available. In season, a soccer field is also used. In addition, the social club of employees is proposing an activity programming depending on the season.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to fill two (2) determinate positions within Protection of fish and fish habitat Directory – Partnership and integrated planning division, to Maurice-Lamontagne Institute located in Mont-Joli.

A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates could be established from this process may be used to staff similar positions of different tenures, with various languages requirements and various security requirements within Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Experience researching and compiling information from multiple sources.

• Experience in delivering services or programs to private sector (such as involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification).

*Due to the unique evaluation process of language proficiency, this essential qualification is required upon appointment only.
