Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on a determinate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC and an RCMP Enhanced Reliability with Secret security clearance.

A pool of candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2 years’ experience in developing strategic advice, guidance and policies related to as Occupational Health and Safety and/or Disability Management.
- Experience in complex case management of files in at least one of the following programs within the public or private sector: disability management, health and safety or return-to-work.
- Experience participating in the development, implementation, oversight and evaluation of occupational health programs.
- Experience developing and delivering training material related to complex disability case management.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

- Certified in Occupational Health Nursing and/or Certified Disability Case Management Professional (CDMP) designation

- Experience using a disability case management system (e.g., Abiliti)
- Experience working in a multi-unionized environment.
- Experience developing program delivery tools and process maps.

- Knowledge of the current health issues and best practices shaping the Occupational Health and Safety Policy environment and industry.
- Knowledge of disability case management best practices and all relevant Federal and provincial legislation [e.g., Human Rights (Duty to Accommodate), Privacy laws, etc…]
- Knowledge of the adjudication, grievance, appeal or administration of occupational claims within the provincial workers’ compensation schemes, and/or in accordance with the Government Employees Compensation Act.

ABILITIES :

- Ability to analyze occupational health care policy and make recommendations to management regarding its impact on occupational health care program delivery.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

Must be registered in General Class as a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario at the time of hire.

*Please note that the position is currently under classification review. The current classification of the positions is (group/level) however, as a result of a review, the position may be reclassified to a different group and level. Once the classification of the position is determined, we will have confirmation of the established group and level for this position. Should the classification not be completed upon completion of the process, we will proceed with indeterminate appointments of qualified candidates at the (group/level) group and level, and we will proceed with a reclassification of the employee afterwards.
