Provides socio-economic analysis in the development, coordination and support of engagement activities, integrated departmental strategies, policy frameworks and positions in the formulation of advice and recommendations to senior management and the Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation Sector concerning the renewed relationship and advancement of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples of Canada.

The immediate need is to staff one (1) permanent position.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar EC-05 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual Imperative or Non-Imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC,CCC/CCC, etc.), locations and conditions of employment.

Your résumé.
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
Note: Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Experience researching and analysing policy positions on complex* Indigenous engagement issues relating to the social or economic agenda and priorities of the Government of Canada.
• Experience in reviewing, and providing engagement recommendations on documents such as memoranda to Cabinet, briefing notes, and reports.
• Significant** experience in communicating orally on complex* issues to Indigenous communities
• Significant** experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and partners including Indigenous organizations.
*Complex is defined as involving multiple parties and perspectives on an issue.
**Significant is defined as approximately 3 years of experience gained within the last 5 years.
• Experience making recommendations on consultations and engagement with Indigenous peoples in the natural resource context.
• Willing and able to work overtime on short notice.
• Willing and able to travel when required.
