Assessment accommodation

These positions are located in Ottawa, ON and Toronto, ON. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from the Ottawa or Toronto office.

Duties

The position is to be part of a team responsible for the provision of support and facilities services including: mail and courier, office supplies, acquisition/disposal of furniture and equipment, telecommunications, ergonomic assessments, health and safety and office moves.

The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) is an independent agency of the Government of Canada, established in 1987 to contribute to the safety and soundness of the Canadian financial system. OSFI supervises and regulates federally registered banks and insurers, trust and loan companies, as well as private pension plans subject to federal oversight.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two positions, one with a language requirement of English essential and one bilingual imperative BBB/BBB on an indeterminate basis.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security profiles and various tenures.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- A secondary school diploma or higher level degree OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Recent* experience in providing advice and support to clients to resolve telecommunications, audiovisual/videoconference, and facilities issues
- Recent* experience in monitoring standards and guidelines in asset, property or facilities management
- Recent* experience preparing and revising construction/floor plans in an office environment
- Recent* experience coordinating and/or monitoring facilities and materiel management projects, including timelines and budgets.
- Recent* experience coordinating and/or scheduling services with central agencies, property building management and external contractors with regards to facilities, office space and administrative matters

*“Recent” is defined as having performed the duties within the last 4 years.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
