This process may be used to establish a pool of candidates that may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various official language proficiencies, various security profiles, various tenures (Indeterminate, Temporary), in various locations within the National Capital Region, using various staffing mechanisms at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

EDUCATION:

ALL STREAMS:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

STEAM 1:
EX1: Experience monitoring and tracking project, or operational activities.
EX2: Experience researching and compiling various sources of data to form a written report.
EX3: Experience ensuring quality control of various documents, including briefing notes, correspondence, presentations, reports and other texts.
EX4: Experience in editing, proofreading and formatting documents.
EX5: Experience providing information and recommendations to management and staff.

STREAM 2:
EX1: Experience in providing administrative support services in the areas of Human Resources or Finance
EX2: Experience in researching and synthesizing information for management
EX3: Experience in coordinating and liaising with external or internal clients
EX4: Experience in managing a tracking system

STEP 3 of the assessment process – LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT

Depending on the position being staff, we might have positions with various language requirements.

If you are interested in being considered for a bilingual position, Second Language Evaluation (SLE) testing will be administered, as required, using the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) SLE tests. • Experience in preparing business planning documents

• Experience in compiling and analyzing financial data generated from SAP or other similar financial systems
• Experience interpreting and applying financial policies, directives and procedures
• Experience coordinating and completing documents or reports for human resources activities such as staffing, classification etc.
• Experience interpreting or applying Human Resources policies, directives and procedures
• Experience using Human Resources Management Systems such as People Soft, or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - STEP 5 of the assessment process - SECURITY CLEARANCE

The hiring department is responsible for the Personnel Security Clearance process.

Typically to be eligible for a "Reliability" clearance, you must provide residence information for the last five (5) years and to be eligible for a "Secret" clearance, you must provide residence information for the last ten (10) years.

The process may involves reference inquiries, verification of qualifications, criminal records checks, credit checks (if required), and fingerprints.
