The immediate need is to staff 1 indeterminate position in YELLOWKNIFE. A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles as well as various security clearances within Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) in Yellowknife.

Education :
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group
OR
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).
Experience:
EX 1: Significant* and recent** experience in providing financial advice and guidance to managers***;
EX2: Significant* and recent** experience in analyzing and challenging financial data and reporting;
EX3: Significant* and recent** experience using corporate financial management software and reporting tools;
EX4: Significant* and recent** experience in researching, writing briefing materials, presentations and/or reports for managers***.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of duties and having performed those duties on a regular and continuous basis for a period of approximately 18 months.
** Recent experience is defined as experience normally acquired within the last three (3) years.
*** Manager is defined as an employee occupying a position at the EX-01 minus 1 or 2 level (or higher).
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Occupational Certification:
A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA).
Experience:
AE1: Experience in using advanced features of Microsoft Word and Excel such as: formulas, pivot tables, searches and formatting.
AE2: Experience using SAP
AE3: Experience providing Financial Management Advisory Services
