Duties

Under the supervision of the Transportation Security manager, your mandate will consist of enforcing legislation and regulations regarding air and rail transport safety. You will interact with various industry stakeholders on a daily basis, facilitate voluntary conformity and effect enforcement measures when appropriate. You will conduct operational and administrative investigations, work as a team to solve complex problems, participate in administrative investigations and will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of special projects.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one position for an indeterminate period. This process may also be used to establish a pool of essentially or partially qualified candidates in order to staff positions of various durations as they become available.

EXPERIENCE
• Recent and significant experience *in developing and maintaining partnerships with internal or external agencies or clients.
• Recent and significant experience * in the analysis and/or legislation or policies or procedures enforcement
• Recent and significant experience * in providing advice and recommendations to clients or direct supervisors.
• Experience in aviation field and/or experience in railway field.

* Recent and significant is defined as a minimum experience of 2 years within the last 5 years.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Required to travel nationally and internationally using all modes of transportation and agree to do so.
• Required to work overtime on short notice and agree to do so.
• Required to work overtime on a irregular schedule and agree to do so.

Conditions of employment

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Secret security clearance.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Required to pass a pre-employment Category III Medical for Transportation Security Inspectors as well as Category II medical every 5 years.
• The incumbent will be required to travel on short notice for extended periods regionally, nationally and internationally using all modes of transportation.
• The incumbent will be required to work overtime and irregular hours as assigned – including on short notice.
