The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is a federal body accountable to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change. The Agency delivers high-quality impact assessments that contribute to informed decision making on major projects in support of sustainable development. The Agency, through its delivery of impact assessments, serves Canadians by looking at both positive and negative environmental, economic, social, and health impacts of potential projects. Among its many responsibilities, the Agency:
• leads and manages the impact assessment process for all federally designated major projects;
• leads Crown engagement and serves as the single point of contact for consultation and engagement with Indigenous peoples during impact assessments for designated projects;
• provides opportunities and funding to support public participation in impact assessments.
The Agency is looking for several professionals to help it achieve its objectives.

A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process will be created and will be used to fill similar positions with linguistic profiles (english or french essential, english essential, bilingual imperative BBB/BBB, bilingual imperative CBC/CBC) as well as tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment, specified period) which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Education:
- Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with acceptable specialization in biology, ecology, environmental science, physics, geology, chemistry or some other science relevant to the position.
The courses for a specialization must have been taken through a recognized university or post secondary educational institution but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Experience:
- Experience* analyzing scientific or Indigenous issues and assessing effects
- Experience* preparing multi-disciplinary, scientific or technical reports
- Experience* managing projects
* (Experience is defined as 3 years or more)

- Availability to travel when required.
- Availability and willingness to work extended hours.
- Ability and willingness to work virtually (i.e. not in the office)
