Depending on the needs of the organization, candidates could be randomly selected from the inventory for assessment purposes. This process may be used to establish a pool of partially or fully qualified candidates which may be used by the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages to staff positions with various security profiles and various tenures.

The Analyst / Investigator / Auditor is responsible for:
- Handling complaints as part of a team responsible for processing complaints, preparing analysis, carrying out external audits and prevention interventions at the Compliance Assurance Branch of the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages.
- Providing advice on official languages.
The Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages (OCOL) is a small organization of 160 employees that offers flexible work arrangements and a positive, collaborative and bilingual work environment.
The Commissioner of Official Languages is mandated by Parliament. He is therefore independent from the government, but his staff are members of the federal public service and benefit from all the related advantages, including flexible work, competitive salaries and professional development.
OCOL has a Workplace with open-concept offices, quiet rooms, meeting rooms and collaborative areas for team work. Employees are equipped with laptops and have WI-FI access throughout the office space. The eco-friendly building is located at 30 Victoria St. in Gatineau and is close to public transit, parking, bike and walking paths, shops and services. The building offers indoor bike storage as well as change rooms with showers.
Due to COVID-19, most of our employees are currently working virtually from home using the latest technologies to stay connected. Under normal circumstances, the Analyst / Investigator / Auditor positions are located at 30 Victoria St. in Gatineau.
OCOL administers the compensation of employees directly in its offices in Gatineau. Therefore, it is not serviced by the Pay Centre in Miramichi. In this regard, all compensation transactions are carried out on site.
Candidates may be referred from this inventory at anytime for various positions based on the needs of the organization. The inclusion of your application into the inventory will depend on the responses provided to the screening questions. You must clearly indicate, in writing and giving concrete examples, how you meet each essential qualification in the Education and Experience category; failure to do so may result in your application being rejected. You are also encouraged to do the same for asset qualifications should you meet them. Therefore, please answer the questions in the application carefully. Résumés will be used as a secondary source to validate the criteria relating to experience and the skills described in the screening questions.

EDUCATION
A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test* approved as an alternative to university graduation.
*In reference to the General Intelligence Test 310 which will be administered, as needed, as part of the process.
EXPERIENCE
EXP1 - Recent and significant* experience in gathering, and analyzing information;
EXP2 - Recent and significant* experience in preparing written material such as briefings, reports, recommendations and/or presentations.
*Recent and significant” is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for approximately 2 years in the last 4 years.

Please note that if you have previously participated in an Analyst / Investigator / Auditor selection process with the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages, your results may be applied to the current selection process. This will be confirmed during the assessment stage of the selection process. You are required to submit an application to this selection process to be considered for further assessment.
Proof of Canadian Citizenship and education credentials must be available upon request. Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. If you do not have a degree, you may be asked to complete the approved PSC test as an alternative to a university degree.

TRAVEL RELATED TO THE SELECTION OR APPOINTMENT PROCESS: Please note that candidates (including employees of the Public Service) will not be considered to be in travel status or on government business and that travel costs will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs. Minimal reimbursement of relocation expenses could be offered if the selected candidate moves as a result of an employment offer.

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
