Duties

📌 The Price Advisory Group (PAG) within the Acquisitions Program provides contract cost analysis and negotiation as well as other related financial advisory services in support of its client, the Public Service and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Contract Authority and their contract management duties.

📌 PAG is a group of professional accountants who are located in the National Capital Region (NCR).

📌 In this position the employee will be required to, among others:
• Lead complex cost and price negotiations with contractors in support of the Government of
Canada procurement process;
• Provide expert advice to clients and senior management on a variety of financial matters related
to contract costing including reasonableness of pricing, contract termination settlements, foreign
exchange, etc.;
• Conduct and issue professional opinions on financial capability of potential contractors;
• Support and advise clients on development of Request for Proposals covering such areas as the
basis of payment, financial evaluation models, economic price adjustment approaches etc.
• Work with clients both in the NCR and across the various regions of Canada;
• Provide assistance, share your knowledge and advice with colleagues within PAG and the whole
Directorate;
• Support Canada’s obligations to foreign governments for pricing support services under various
reciprocal agreements including the Defence Production Sharing Agreement.

The immediate need is to staff three (3) AU-04 positions on an indeterminate basis :

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions with various locations, various tenures, various language requirements and/or security requirements, according to the position being staffed within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada.

🎓EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting, business administration, commerce, finance or some other specialty relevant to the position

Be a member in good standing as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

☝EXPERIENCES
▹Recent and Significant* Experience conducting commercial negotiations with/for private sector corporations ranging from small and medium enterprises to multinationals
▹Recent and Significant* Experience in industrial cost accounting of goods and/or services

*Recent and Significant experience is defined as the depth, breadth and complexity of experience normally acquired through the performance of duties for an approximate period of four (4) years within the last seven (7) years.
