Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of English Essential and an RCMP Top Secret security clearance

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

Note:
1.The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
◦A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
◦An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
a.Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
b.Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the GT classification.

Degree equivalency

[EX1] *Significant *recent experience utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for the development of 3D designs of mechanical or electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
[EX2] *Significant experience preparing and interpreting detailed mechanical design, fabrication or production drawings.
[EX3] Experience working with, maintaining, calibrating, or repairing various shop equipment, including but not limited to: CNC machines, manual machining, fabrication equipment, 3D printers, hand tools or power tools.
[EX4] Experience preparing project plans including time and costing estimates.

*For the purpose of this process, significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally be acquired over a period of three (3) years or more.
*For the purpose of this process, recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

[AS1] Successful completion of a post secondary education program of at least two-years from a recognized Canadian institution in mechanical engineering technology or a related discipline.
[AS2] Certification as a mechanical engineering technologist from a Canadian certifying body.
[AS3] Experience using Solidworks CAD software.
[AS4] Experience performing vehicle maintenance, repairs or modifications.
[AS5] Experience leading a product development project from concept to production.
[AS6] Experience using metrology tools and equipment such as 3D scanners and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and their software to conduct quality control or reverse engineering.
[AS7] Experience designing, building, or repairing basic electrical or electronic circuits.
