Applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation from university, college or a recognized technical institute with a specialization in a science relevant to human health (e.g. biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, immunology, biopharmaceutical science or some other specialty related to the position).

Degree equivalency

EE1 - A minimum of 2 years experience* performing bacteriological, immunological, physicochemical, or biochemical laboratory techniques.
EE2 - Experience coordinating, maintaining and monitoring laboratory operations.
* Experience acquired as a student in a teaching or classroom setting is not applicable

AE1 – Extensive experience performing separation techniques such as HPLC, gel electrophoresis of proteins or saccharides or HPAEC-PAD.
AE2 - Extensive experience performing immunological assays (e.g. enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay [ELISA])
AE3 - Extensive experience performing nephelometry based assays
AE4 - Extensive experience performing mammalian cell culture procedures or cell-based bioassays
AE5 - Extensive experience performing and reviewing verifications, calibrations and maintenance on laboratory instruments
AE6 - Extensive experience in Lot release or Quality Control testing of biological products
AE7 - Extensive experience working within a quality management system
AE8 - Extensive experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
AE9 - Extensive experience maintaining laboratory safety programs
AE10 – Extensive experience in performing molecular biology techniques
AE11 - Extensive experience conducting functional or chromogenic assays to determine potency of enzymes, inhibitors or cofactors
AE12 – Extensive experience in method development and/or validation
