Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one position on a permanent or temporary basis, in either of the various Atlantic Regions indicated on the poster.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in social science, statistics or a law-related field.

Notes:
“Social science” includes economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology, and other disciplines associated with social science. “The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Significant* experience in writing documents that summarize regulatory or technical issues which include recommendation to decision-makers.
Experience in reviewing investigation reports and make recommendations for administrative or penal outcomes.
Experience in working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Experience in conducting peer reviews.
Experience using Microsoft Suite Applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel.

* Significant experience refers to the complexity and diversity of issues handled and the level of autonomy demonstrated which is normally associated with the performance of the duties for at least two (2) years.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Masters of Law from a recognized university.
Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) Degree or Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree or Bachelor Degree in Criminology / Criminal Justice.
Certification or education in accident investigations, forensics, paralegal studies.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience as a lawyer appearing before an administrative tribunal or in civil or criminal venues.

Experience in practicing law in the private or public sector.

Experience in preparing inspection or investigation reports and presenting analysis and information to peers and senior management.

Experience in conducting internal audits.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and willingness to travel and using all modes of transportation, as required.
Ability and willingness to work overtime, as required.
