Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar positions with various tenures (indeterminate, specified period, deployment, acting, casual, secondment or assignment).

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in the provision of administrative support such as preparing correspondence and other documentation, maintaining records and files, scheduling meetings, and taking minutes.

Experience in using a personal computer and various software packages (Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Experience preparing and deliver presentations and briefings.

Experience in leading and supervising a team.

Experience in researching policy and providing advice to supervisors.

Experience instructing or administering a second language program.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized university in a field related to the position (French Language Studies, Education and Training or Leadership and Management).

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Official Languages governance in the Government of Canada, DND and CAF.
Knowledge of the Public Service Staffing procedures.
Knowledge of financial planning, analysis, forecasting and reporting techniques and procedures.

Ability to manage files related to official languages such as translation, second-language evaluations and training, complaint management and bilingualism standards.

Organizational Needs:
