Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Toronto. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from the Toronto office.

Duties

Reporting to the Managing Director, Culture & Compliance Risk Division (CCRD), the Director, CCRD provides considerable input into the strategic direction for the Division and is responsible for executing the strategy with a focus on achieving RSS and OSFI-wide strategic priorities and key deliverables for the RSS Sector. The role oversees and directs the planning and execution of special risk assessment work in a related CCRD risk specialty for a portfolio of federally regulated financial institutions (FRFIs) which may operate in a variety of environments and contexts. In so doing, the Director assures the appropriate levels and intensity of special risk assessment work, ensuring the effective and consistent application of OSFI’s Supervisory Framework, and the development of all related reporting. The role is instrumental in contributing to OSFI’s mandate of safeguarding FRFIs from risk and undue loss.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in risk management, business, commerce, economics, finance, mathematics, actuarial science, or other relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent and significant leadership experience in one or more of the following areas in the financial Services industry*:
o regulatory compliance
o risk management
o internal/external audit
• Recent experience in leading, developing and coaching people.
• Recent experience in delivering presentations and/or conveying issues to senior management and /or the board of directors.

* Financial services industry experience is defined as experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, accounting firms (dealing with audits), and legal or consulting firms, as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and/or regulation of these institutions or other relevant areas.
