Education:
Graduation with an acceptable doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field of the natural sciences with a specialization in microbiology, immunology or related field.
Experience:
• Experience in providing specialized scientific, technical expertise or recommendations.
• Experience in leading, organizing and delivery of scientific projects in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with characterization of viruses.
• Experience in serological assays for the characterization of viruses.
• Experience in communicating scientific findings (publications, presentations).
Asset Experience:
• Experience in leading, managing and delivery of mandated scientific programs.
• Experience being an expert representative for national or international conferences, symposia, seminars or workshops.
• Experience in training scientific personnel.
• Demonstrated research experience and expertise in respiratory viruses.
• Demonstrated research experience and expertise in SARS-CoV-2.
• Experience with whole genome sequencing of viruses.
• Experience working in a CL3 environment.

Information on language requirements
Knowledge:
Knowledge of trends, emerging issues and concerns relating to minimizing risks of human illness, particularly as it relates to SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses.
