Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Toronto. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, the successful candidate will be required to report to and work onsite from the Toronto office.

Duties

The Market and Liquidity Risk Division (MLRD) is seeking one highly motivated individual to join the Toronto Office in the position of Specialist. The position will be part of a team involved in the analysis of federally regulated financial institutions (FRFIs) inherent market and liquidity risks, and assessment of market risk controls. The successful candidate for the position will have increasing levels of responsibility for leading various work streams and contribute to the leadership and operation of the group.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in business, commerce, economics, finance, accounting or other relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Canadian or international experience in the financial services industry*, in one or more of the following areas:
o Risk management
o Corporate treasury
o Liquidity
o Trading
o Trading management
o Central Banking
o Fixed Income or Equity Research
o Financial or Risk Consulting
• Experience in critiquing risk management practices and identifying key risk areas in the financial services industry*.

*Financial services industry includes experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms (dealing with audits), as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions, or other relevant areas.
