Assessment accommodation

Presently, the official location (designated workplace*) of the positons to be staffed is Place du Portage – Phase IV in the National Capital Region (NCR). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Citizen Services Branch employees are required to work from home. When an eventual return to the workplace will be possible, there may be, at the manager’s discretion or based on operational requirements, a continued option or requirement to work from a different ESDC/Service Canada Office location or the employee’s residence. Principal Publisher is responsible for operating the Canada.ca website, as well as various Government of Canada (GC) hosted solutions, including: search, social media account management, and web analytics. The Secure Digital Solutions team is responsible for operating the My Service Canada Account website. Both teams are part of the Digital Services Directorate Located in downtown Gatineau, the Digital Services Directorate is where passionate people come to make a difference !

EXPERIENCE STREAM 1 (Web Publishing Specialist)

• Experience in the development of Web pages using HTML 5 as a core technology markup language.

• Experience in developing Web pages compliant with the Web Standards for the Government of Canada and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0).

• Experience interpreting documents submitted by clients and identifying Web accessibility issues and/or content issues.

EXPERIENCE STREAM 2 (Web Specialist)

• Experience in providing advice to clients on Web procedures, and in preparing reports for the purpose of giving presentations to clients and stakeholders.

• Experience in writing Web communication products using plain language.

• Experience in analyzing, processing and preparing analytics reports from various sources for management.

KNOWLEDGE - STREAM 1

• Knowledge of the Standard on Web Accessibility and WCAG 2.0.
• Knowledge of HTML 5.

ABILITIES – ALL STREAMS

• Ability to analyze and interpret client requirements for services.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally.
