OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
Possession of a valid Journeyperson Interprovincial Certification (Red Seal)
or
Canadian Forces Qualification Level 5 Military Cook trade certificate

EXPERIENCE:
E1 - *Recent and **Significant experience as a cook in an institutional, industrial or commercial food service establishment.

*Recent is defined as experience normally acquired within approximately the last 5 years.

** Significant experience is defined as experience acquired relevant to the duties for a period of approximately 2 years in the last 5 years.

KNOWLEDGE:
K1 - Knowledge of the Food Safety Code of Practice intended for the Canadian Food Service Industry as per the Canadian Restaurant Food Association.
K2 - Knowledge of culinary terms and techniques.
K3 - Knowledge of preparation and cooking methods for food products.
K4 - Knowledge to operate Food Service tools and equipment using safety practices and hygiene principles.
