Duties

• Provide advice and make recommendations to the Directorate on technical matters regarding the field of activity.
• Analyze engineering reports and act as an informed client with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).
• Plan and manage construction projects as well as the related budgets.
• Act as a technical advisor.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff a year term position in Montreal or in Quebec. However, a pool of essentially or partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar or equivalent positions of various durations (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment) and of various language requirements in Transport Canada.

EDUCATION
• Successful completion of a post-secondary program relevant to the duties of the position, such as in civil engineering, building systems, or mechanical engineering.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Recent and significant* experience in the management of construction-related projects.
• Experience in drafting procedures or reports.
• Experience in providing advice to managers or supervisors, as well as to clients such as working groups, committees, etc.

* Recent and significant experience is defined as a minimum of three (3) years’ experience acquired within the last seven (7) years.
