Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff one (1) position on an indeterminate basis.

A fully or partially assessed pool may be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic requirements, tenures and security clearances within the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC). All other federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this selection process to appoint a candidate to a similar position within their organization.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.

OR

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard. Whenever the minimum education standard is met through this alternative, it is met only for the position being staffed, and candidates must be re-assessed for future appointments or deployments where the manager has decided to use this alternative.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Recent* and significant** experience providing advice and guidance in staffing or recruitment in an operational context.

Experience in interpreting and applying legislation or policies related to staffing or recruitment.

Experience in conducting research, analyzing information and providing recommendations to clients in the field of human resources.

*’Recent experience’ is defined as having been acquired within the last three (3) years.

**'Significant’ is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of duties and having performed those duties on a regular and continuous basis for a period of minimum two (2) years.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in providing advice and recommendations in staffing or recruitment in an operational context in the Federal Public Service.

Experience in the research and application of legislation or policies related to staffing or recruitment within the Federal Public Service.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
