Integrated Technical Services (ITS) is a dynamic organization within the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), with the mandate to deliver technical services and solutions to ensure that the CCG’s varied physical assets are capable, reliable and available to deliver CCG Programs to Canadians.
As a Supply Technician, you will deliver a full range of warehousing and stores services for a DFO and CCG region, including coordinating the receipt, storage, issue, and delivery of material, including critical spare parts for CCG vessels. This work requires motor vehicle operation, including trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

We currently have one permanent and one temporary vacancy for supply technicians which will be filled with this advertisement. A fully or partially qualified list of candidates may be created for future temporary or permanent opportunities within the Canadian Coast Guard, Atlantic Region.

EDUCATION:
A Secondary school diploma (High School) or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in a warehouse, stores, or material management environment.
Experience using a computerized inventory control system or material management system.
English essential
Information on language requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of material handling and warehousing practices.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Practices relevant to a warehousing/stores environment.
Knowledge of WHIMIS regulations.
CORE COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrates integrity and respect.

ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written communication will be assessed).
Ability to use Word Processing (e.g. Microsoft Word) and spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel).
Ability to prioritize workload.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Experience in the handling, storing and on-site transportation of dangerous goods.
Reliability Status security clearance
Requirement to occasionally travel across Canada as required.
Requirement to work overtime as required.
Requirement to work occasional weekends as required.
Valid provincial driver’s license.
Requirement to occasionally handle (i.e. lifting, pushing and pulling) heavy material and equipment weighing up to 22.3 kg.
