Duties

The student will assist our researchers in building and analyzing the evacuation database. There is a need to correlate the evacuation events in the CWFIS evacuation database to the National Fire database. This will be an intensive process, and requires a student with experience in fire. By linking the events in these two database, we will be able to do further scientific inquiry on evacuation events.

Intent of the process

It is expected that the student will work 16 hours per week, for an 8 month period, from Spring 2021 (May 1) to Fall 2021 (Dec 31).

Information on language requirements

Education:
Students must be enrolled full-time to the University of Laval, Anthropology department in a doctorate program.

Degree equivalency

Experience: (please indicate clearly in your resume how you meet this experience criteria)
Experience conducting research with Indigenous communities.

Knowledge: (will be assessed at the interview)
Knowledge of Indigenous research methods.
Knowledge of wildfire management (including evacuations).
