Work environment

• IT Business Analyst

An IT business analyst has the responsibility of gathering, communicating, and managing the requirements of a system, product, or process. You are responsible for communicating with partners and to gather, document, and describe, the needs of stakeholders, working closely with your interdisciplinary team.

• IT Security Analyst

As an IT security analyst, you will assess software and technical solutions of a system, product, or process. You will be responsible for providing architectural and design input, developing and managing appropriate security documentation, and communicating with other IT partners to interpret IT policies, standards and procedures.

• Solution Architect

While delivering projects that meet business requirements, you ensure that projects follow architectural standards and best practices throughout their delivery cycle. The SA will represent projects to management and technical teams and deliver various artifacts, from cloud architecture to network and security frameworks.

• IT Service Designer

As a Service Designer, you will work in a cross-functional team, consulting with stakeholders and users, to research, analyse, envision, map and communicate service experiences using a diverse set of methods & tools that illustrate the components and touch-points of the service.

• User Experience Researcher or Designer

As a UX specialist, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team using established UCD methods. You may conduct, analyse, and present research studies; or solicit business and user requirements to design wireframes or prototypes for digital solutions. You will collaborate with your team, to advocate for the user ensuring that the final product is accessible, high quality and delivers the intended user experience.

• Platform Analyst (Cloud Dev/Operations)

Our cloud devops specialists are all about developing distributed systems in a cloud-native environment. Working with a variety of languages and technology, you integrate, extend, and create containerized components deployed to Kubernetes and leverage additional managed cloud services to deliver the best possible product.

• Technology Architect

Our cloud service specialists are responsible for planning and engineering our cloud computing infrastructure and applications. You provide design input, collaborate with clients and analysts on project artifacts, and analyze and recommend improvements to existing system architectures for a public cloud environment. Our specialists plan the installation, integration, and validation of solutions.

• Sales Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned, motivated and adaptable Sales Engineer with proven experience and a passion for promoting cloud technology solutions. You would become well-versed with our current cloud platform, coordinate meetings with customers to assess their business and technical needs, and align these needs from an architectural perspective to our internal service offerings – preparing technical artifacts and presentations.

Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established from this process to staff CS-02 or CS-03 and equivalent positions within Statistics Canada across Canada. This process may be used to staff positions of various tenures, language requirements, security profiles and various work locations.
