You MUST clearly demonstrate in writing how you meet the Essential Education, and Experience requirements. Provide examples and describe the work/duties you have performed. Failure to do so may result in your application not being considered further during the screening process.

Intent of the process

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary, acting or permanent basis, on a casual basis, at full or part time hours).

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Notes:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Acceptable combination refers to any two of the following:
Education: completion of two years of secondary school.
Training: completion of courses related to the position being staffed.
Experience: approximately three years’ experience working in a field relevant to the position being staffed.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
1. Experience in providing accounting or financial support services such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, or financial management.
2. Experience using a financial management system such as SAP, Oracle, ACCPAC.
3. Experience in collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources and compiling the information into Excel spreadsheets.
4. Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).

Experience means depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties over a period of 12 continuous months within the last 5 years.

Education:
Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a business administration or commerce field OR two years of post-secondary education with specialization in accounting, finance, business administrations, commerce or economics.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
1. Experience in providing administrative or financial support in a policing environment.
2. Experience in reviewing or preparing financial coding requests (e.g. coding structure, coding block).
3. Experience in providing advice and guidance to clients or colleagues or management in relation to administrative or financial policies, procedures, or directives.
4. Experience in preparing or processing Journal Entries.
5. Experience with Cost Recovery processes (e.g. billing).

Abilities:
1. Ability to use reasoning skills to solve problems.
“Ability to use reasoning skills to solve problems” will be assessed via the General Competency Test: Level 1 (GCT1).
