This position works as part of a collaborative team comprised of Public Service instructional designers and Regular Member (police officer) subject matter resources in Training Program Support and Evaluation (TPSE) unit at Depot Division. The team is responsible for the design and development of curriculum for the Cadet Training Program, which is the basic police officer training that cadets must successfully complete in order to be offered a position as an RCMP Regular Member. The curriculum includes six program areas: Applied Police Sciences, Firearms, Police Defensive Tactics, Police Driving, Operational Conditioning, and Drill and Deportment. The team is also responsible for creating curriculum for other RCMP induction training programs.

This process will be used to staff two indeterminate, full time positions; one English Essential and one Bilingual Imperative, CCC
A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff potential future vacancies with various tenures and language requirements. Should candidates indicate in his/her application/resume that he/she possesses other various language profiles such as Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, and CCC/CCC, he/she will be assessed through Second Language Evaluation testing (ELS)at a later date.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Graduation with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Education or Educational Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution, or graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognized post-secondary institution with recent and significant experience in curriculum design and development.
Recent experience* in the creation of curriculum for education and/or training, including needs analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation
Recent experience* in the design and development of assessments (i.e., tests)

Must be willing and able to relocate and/or work in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
