The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is seeking someone whose appetite for designing effective learning solutions is second only to their appetite for developing their career at the Pacific Region Training Centre (PRTC), the western training hub for the RCMP. The PRTC is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative Curriculum Designer to build upon and evolve our training resources, content and curriculum. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with subject matter experts and staff to design instructional solutions for in-class, online and blended learning content for a wide and diverse set of topic areas.
The Curriculum Designer will predominantly work in an office environment. They will also spend time researching content and discussing the design with team members, subject matter experts and management. At times, it will require some travel and work in the field.

The anticipated intent/result of this process is to indeterminately staff (on a full time basis) one position.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a Master’s Degree from a recognized University with an acceptable specialization in Adult Education, Curriculum and Instruction or Education Technology. Or an undergraduate degree in Education along with several years of experience in Adult Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or Education Technology. The specialization may be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and recent work experience.
EXPERIENCE
1. *Recent experience in project management for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning programs.
2. *Recent experience in assessing, and addressing organizational learning and performance needs and/or data collection via focus groups, surveys and interviews related to new and existing educational initiatives (Training Needs Analysis).
3. *Recent experience in facilitating and leading client teams and SME ‘s within the context of curriculum design.
4. *Recent experience using programming/authoring tools and educational technologies such as Storyline, Adobe Captivate or other accepted industry standard software to develop and design multiple customized learning products.
5. **Significant experience using Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint.
6. *Recent experience and a proven record of developing a broad range of learning activities, learning modules, courseware, and learner assessments including classroom, online and/or distance learning training products.
*Recent experience is defined as experience normally obtained within the past 3 years.
** Significant experience is a knowledge of fuller operations for example Microsoft Access, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Skype and OneNote and means the experience obtained on a regular basis usually daily or weekly within the last 5 years.

Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
