Immediate need: 1 full-time temporary position (April 2021 to March 2023).

Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in agriculture, environmental science, biology, allied sciences or a field relevant to the duties of the position.

IF YOU HAVE FOREIGN CREDENTIALS, please follow the link below for information on how to obtain a degree equivalency. You must obtain an equivalency, at your own expense, in order to be considered for appointment into the public service.

Degree equivalency

Experience conducting experiments under both field and controlled environmental conditions.
Experience collecting and performing analyses on plant and soil samples.
Experience calibrating and operating field plot and post-harvest equipment.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Possession of a valid pesticide applicators certificate of qualification.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of plant nutrient management and crop protection practices.
Knowledge of analytical instruments and techniques used in crop eco-physiological studies.

Reliability Status security clearance

Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Ability and willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends.
Ability and willingness to control allergies, through the use of personal protective equipment and/or medication without impinging on the duties to be performed.
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid pesticide applicators certificate of qualification.
Ability and willingness to work with pesticides.
Ability and willingness to work under various environmental and weather conditions.
Ability and willingness to complete work that requires manual dexterity including bending, kneeling and lifting heavy objects up to 22 kg.
Ability and willingness to work in both a field and laboratory environment.
